[Flashback; Sam's First (Unofficial) Meeting]
Time: Back Then
Location: Dean's Flat
People: Jo, Sam (Maybe Dean)
The front door is open, because the late spring breeze is nice.
And Jo is laying on the couch, pulling a curl absently, while reading.

She pushed her hair behind her shoulders, bemused.
"That does sound like a safe assumption at least."
no subject
Wand in his hand, the words just waiting in his mind.
"You're being way more coy than any other woman I've ever seen in this apartment was ever capable of. It's concerning."
no subject
Her bare feet hit the carpet, as her fingers ran through her hair.
"Is there a less concerning way to find unknown women on this couch?"
Because she's have to say she'd love to pin that one on Dean.
Right before threatening to curse him if she ever found one here.
no subject
Then he saw the book.
One of Dean's books.
...not one of the comic books.
"Nope. Never. Any woman in here, total surprise."
This is 'helping' but he still can't do it without grinning.
no subject
Jo smirked, shaking her head. Light.
Even as she knew that truth.
no subject
"And you are?"
no subject
A hand landing on her right hip.
Her wand was in her back pocket.
But she wasn't going for it.
"And you're Sam."
Was not a question.
And not at all coy.
no subject
He's in Dean's apartment. There's no shortage of pictures. And a girl - who can read - is still here in early afternoon.
"And you're dating my brother."
Apparently.
no subject
There was a smirk. Amused, wicked, bright.
"Well, that is one thing to call it."
Beat. "I usually go with boyfriend."
It makes Dean's face shift so.
Not that she had anyone else to tell herself.
no subject
"What's he do when you say it?"
no subject
But that can't be the proper response.
When she's trying not to laugh at Sam's expression.
"Not the typical response for a random couch bunny. Noted."
no subject
"Despite your location on the couch."
There may have been a companionable smirk as his hands finally left his coat pockets.
no subject
Jo shot back adding to Sam's list with a grin.

Jo totally never asked the first time she showed.
She broke into his flat instead that time.

He pauses for a moment, then nods to the kitchen. "I'm getting a beer."
This is an invitation.
no subject
Bare feet padding quietly.
"Guess I'm a riot of miracles, then."
Also, pretty damn gone on his brother, too.
no subject
He turns his back on her, which proves nothing, really. The wand is still within easy reach. And he has to bend to reach into the fridge - again, not vulnerable. But neither is Sam going to any special effort to pretend he is.
It's almost casual.
"So you're planning on being a fixture, then," he comments, straightening with two bottles, one offered to her.
no subject
She almost wants to tell him.
Can't help wondering if Dean will.
But instead she took the beer.
She's never chosen to be someone elses secret.
Not one who almost knew everything. Or close enough.
Jo popped the cap off using the edge of a kitchen counter.
While grimacing at Sam's choice of words.
"You make it sound like furniture."
Jo Harvelle didn't stay anywhere.
The same with her real work.
She just kept coming back.
And let Dean know that.

no subject
The other Winchester still alive.
She had to meet Sam sometime.
Dean, girlfriend, and all.
It's a twisted up both lie and truth.
"Maybe you didn't look like much of threat?"
Jo gave him a mockingly innocent smirk for that.
no subject
He scares people on accident. Sam isn't too worried about being taken as overly cuddly.
"Guess I'll have to work harder on my Scary Face."
no subject
More than a foot taller.
And far broader.
Than her.
A walking mountain.
And that was without his talents.
Jo took a drink of her beer. Casually.
"So, what brings you here today?"
no subject
"I have family in the area."
Which is no excuse not to be coy, if she insists, too.
She's too relaxed, too calm, too cool to be anything but knowledgable in the more interesting areas of this life.
no subject
When she was considering whether to stay.
When she still thought she got a vote.
"Oh. I'm sorry he's not here."
Because it's polite. Partially.
"Did you want to wait for Dean?"
